Statement of Informed Consent
MBA in Construction and Real Estate
Assessed Research Methods (ARM) Module Research into Marketing Research and the Real Estate and Construction Industries
Thank you for agreeing to co-operate with, and assist, me in research I am undertaking in respect of the Dissertation that I am submitting as part fulfilment of a MBA in Construction and Real Estate at the College of Estate Management, University of Reading. As Researcher (Paul Austin Dixon), I wish to make the following information available to you:

The Researcher will display Professional integrity based upon appropriate Codes of Professional Conduct (for example, The Chartered Institute of Marketing, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building) and will ensure a moral obligation towards stakeholders, respondents and participants. The Researcher agrees to follow the ethical guidelines of the Institute of Management Consultants and Management Consultants Association regarding the principles of vulnerability and transparency. The Researcher further agrees to follow the ethical guidelines for business and management research based upon the Codes of Practice of the Association for Human Resource Development and the British Psychological Society. Data collection, analysis, interpretation, storage and protection will follow the British Sociological Association’s “Statement of Ethical Principles". Where any recording is proposed, for observation, interviewing or data collection, consent will be obtained in advance from all the parties involved.

Where recording takes place, individuals will have the opportunity of receiving a copy and/or transcript. Recordings and transcripts will be stored securely and will not be accessible to unauthorized persons. The material will not be used for any other purposes other than those agreed with the Researcher. The material will remain at the Researcher's premises for six months after the period of the research, following which it will be destroyed.

The Researcher will protect the rights of the participating organizations and individuals within and associated with them. This research will not be attributable to any individuals and identifiable data will not be made available to participating organizations. This research does not involve medical/healthcare issues, or involve young persons.
